New stash

First I would like to say that I hope that everyone who celebrates Christmas had a happy holiday. I would also like to wish a Happy New Year to everyone! I had a great Christmas, I was able to spend a lot of time with my family! I don't get to see them as often as I used to, now that I'm working :( It was a joy to see my nieces and nephew who seem to be growing so fast.

Almost a month ago my husband and I went to the casino for dinner and I won some money on the slots. Right away I decided that I would use my winnings to try Silkweaver fabric. I ordered 3 solo minis and 3 classic minis. The package was waiting for me when I got home after Christmas! The fabric is beautiful (click on the picture to see the colors a little better). I especially like Summer Breeze and Mountain Rose. I'm not quite sure what I will stitch on these wonderful fabrics yet, probably some of the freebies I've accumulated. I'm sure that I will be ordering more from Silkweaver in the future!

Look what I got!

I entered one of Michelle's 25 drawings for December and I actually won! I received the gifts yesterday and I was thrilled. Not only was this my first time winning a stitchy gift, but it was my first time receiving a package from another country! As you can see from the picture, the prize included 5 skiens of DMC floss (4 color variations), a pair of scissors, some yellow dye, a christmans card, and some gum. Thank you very much Michelle!

Thanksgiving, a week late

I always have intentions of blogging about things right after they happen but I never seem to follow through on it. Thanksgiving was a week ago and I am just now getting to talk about it. My husband and I have only been married for a year and this was the first time that we've hosted a holiday meal! It was even more special because his family were the first visitors we've had to our new home (which we've only been in for two months). Including my husband and I there were 16 people in our home! Fortunately there were kind to us and the only thing we had to cook was the turkey! They brought everything else. Here is a picture of the tablescape. It was the first time we were really able to show off the china that we got for our wedding. Below is a close-up of a single place setting.

I will leave you with a picture of some stash I acquired awhile ago actually. I knew as soon as I saw Blackbeard's Princess, I knew I had to have it! I am the kind of person who really has to finish one big project before I can start another, so it will be awhile before I can begin this one :( I have to finish Crystal Symphony and The Stargazer first.
